You have a lot of options when it comes to getting help starting or growing a small business.
Access to information isn’t the problem. There’s a ton of it. And much of it is free – if you have time to research and read.
Your choice is really more about personal fit. Do you like the instructor? Do your values and ideas about business and life align with theirs? And is the information presented in a way that works for you?
You can learn more about SuperSimpl and me, Dave, on the About page. As far as values, here are the core principles and ideas behind everything we do at SuperSimpl.
I hope this will help you determine if what we have to offer is a great fit for you.
We Keep it Simple
Business is simply providing a product or service that someone is willing to pay enough for that you have some profit left in the end.
There’s no need to complicate it. And you don’t need a logo, business card, or website to get started. You just need customers.
I cut your grass, you give me $X. I give you the thing I made, you give me $Y. Doesn’t matter if you’re a plumber, engineer, consultant, or app developer. You just need an offer and someone willing to pay.
After that, you can find ways to spread the word and get more customers. But we don’t put the cart before the horse and waste precious time on things that don’t move the needle.
We Don’t Do “Get Rich Quick”
There are a lot of people selling a lot of ways to make money easily and quickly. I’m not one of them.
Is it possible to get rich quickly? I have no idea; “rich” and “quick” are both relative terms. But even if it is possible, it’s not replicable for most people – even if it sounds good. Especially if it sounds good!
Can you make some amount of money in a short amount of time? Absolutely.
Building a small business takes time and effort, and has husbands and fathers, we all have differing amounts of each.
We Avoid Hype and Marketing Scams
In the world of business, entrepreneurship, and marketing, there is always hype. Whether it’s Twitter becoming X, Meta launching that new thing, AI and ChatGPT, or the latest book, podcast, course, or conference, there’s always something new.
For solopreneurs and small business owners, most of those things are simply distractions. Some groups or courses are literal scams. But a few can be very helpful – saving time and money, or help you reach new customers. The hard part if figuring out which is which.
We don’t avoid them 100%, but they’re also not the main focus, especially in the stages of starting or growing your business.
We Don’t Love Social Media
Speaking of social media, I don’t know about you, but I could do without it altogether. I certainly don’t want to be an influencer. I hardly even want you to know who I am. (If I could help you anonymously, I would.)
Like everything else, sometimes social media has a place, and most business need at least one avenue for reaching new customers. But if you’re like us, we’d do without it if we could.
We Are Tired of all the Hustle
Hustling is for 20 year old single dudes who can work 18 hours/day and live off ramen noodles. If you’re like me, all the hustle I got goes to getting through the week – work, school, carpool, sports, family, relationships, church, mens groups, the house, the cars, the yard, and anything else you can squeeze in there.
To start and grow a successful small business takes some work and time, but I’m tired of people telling me I need to hustle. Not all of us are built like that.
If you can relate, you’re in the right place. Let’s find ways to get things done and make progress while maintaining our health, sanity, and everything else we have going on.
We Need Help and Guidance
There was a time in my life where I thought I could figure out everything I needed to figure out to “make it work” and be successful. I was wrong. Way wrong.
After multiple failures in work, business, and life, I now know I need help. I need guidance from people that are smarter than me, more experienced than me, that have lived longer than me, or that simply see things in a different light.
If you’re in the same boat, this is a good place for you.
We Can’t Do It Alone
If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
In addition to men who can teach and guide us, we also need men around us – to provide feedback, insight, or encouragement.
Too many husbands and fathers are living life alone. They may have their kids or significant others, coworkers or neighbors, but many are lacking any sort of connection to other, like-minded men. I’m hoping we can change that.
That’s why I started the community. And if the above resonates with you, I invite you to join us.
